The first school built in Stapleton
Stapleton School was first established in 1892. The school site had been moved four times when members of the community requested a more central location. Land was donated and the community raised $434.10 to construct a two room white wooden school. This school opened in 1912, and the present school is located on that same campus.

Stapleton School in 2002
In the 1920's, the now old wooden school was updated to a new brick school. It was still a one room classroom with one teacher teaching all of the students. As Stapleton grew, a bigger school was needed. In the 1950's, a new brick school was built. It consisted of six classrooms and an office. The one room brick school was converted into the school cafeteria. In 1999, six more classrooms and a gym were added. The cafeteria was renovated and expanded.

Architect Drawing of the School Entrance
Stapleton School expanded once again in 2003. A new office, library, and computer lab were added. When the architects drew up the plans for the new entrance way , they used the design of the original wooden school for their inspiration.
